Project Life: Week 1

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I plan on following a “week at a glance” idea for this project. I’ve also decided to start each week with Monday and end with Sunday in order to keep the weekend together in the same week. For this first week, I started Sunday the 1st and went through Sunday the 8th.

I started off just putting the photos and journaling cards in and then added little embellishments (rub-ons, labels, chipboard letters, etc…) here and there.

Hopefully I will be able to stay caught up for the rest of the year. LOL!

I am linking up with Jessica for Project Life Tuesday!

Project Life: The Beginning

Have you all seen the recent “buzz” over Project Life 2012? There are so many people joining in this year and I am excited to say that I am finally one of them. I have wanted to do Project Life for quite a few years so I am thrilled!!

Since this is my first year, I didn’t mind using last years’ styles…and that meant that I could order them early! So…I did A LOT of research and finally decided on my products! I decided to go with the Turquoise Edition.

I love the colors and the clean lines! I already have my eye on the Cobalt or Clementine Editions for next year.

To say that I was excited when my order arrived is an understatement!

Seriously…does a box full of journaling cards and stickers make any of you jump for joy??

I have decided to go with mostly “Design A” photo pages…

…but I also ordered a variety pack to switch it up occasionally.

I actually need to order a few more of the Design A, but they are sold out right now...boooo!

Now…I know what all of you non-scrapbookers (or past scrapbookers) are saying. “I just don’t have time to keep up with putting together a scrapbook!”

If so, Project Life is for you!! It is the perfect simple way to get those photos off of your computer and into your home for your family to enjoy. Start recording those everyday memories! Here is a great video explaining the idea behind Project Life from its creator, Becky Higgins.

You don’t need any special tools to put together this album! Just insert the pictures, write your notes on the cards, and then insert them into the pockets. Simple!

If you are like me and love the paper-crafting aspect of it…just get a little more creative with your pages. I plan to add embellishments and extra details along the way…treat each picture and journaling card as its own layout. You don’t have to add anything at all though…it is all about what you are looking to get out of it.

I have already made good progress with week 1 and will share some of my details and process with you soon. Some people are choosing to take the “daily” route and add a picture from each day, but I have decided to do a “week at a glance” route. Each week will have 2 pages (or some extras if I have more pictures for a certain week), but each day won’t necessarily have a picture. I’ll be sharing my pages as I go along too.

Would you like some inspiration to help you understand what Project Life is all about? Check out this post from Becky’s blog…Project Life: Getting Started in 2012. It is FULL of links to other blogs. Each one is different and that is what is great about Project Life. Ali Edwards is by far my favorite source of inspiration for this project. I love everything about her 2011 Project Life!
